Today Jay introduced me to the connect>create project and presented me with a choice between two possible avenues for my client brief this year:
CSI (CULTURE SCENE INVESTIGATION)
From Neolithic to Roman, objects give us information about groups of people, language, religion, technology and values. Investigate relics that offer up stories, craft and evidence of horrific past traditions. From human remains, grave-goods, the Roos Carr figures, Roman mosaics to many other offerings both painted and preserved, there will be evidence to ignite your imagination....
ID (IDENTIFICATION)
From the troubled times of the world wars to the liberalism of the 1960’s and beyond; portraiture depicts the spirit of human condition. What is the artist’s representation of the world? Take inspiration from the dynamic applications of subjective emotions and the vivid responses to events and objects... What is the true meaning of the portrait? How will you use imagery and objects to express your ideas?
I was asked to consider both possible avenues in order to come up with a possible idea for development.
